Lake Hume is six times larger than Sydney Harbour and a stunning location to base your stay in the Albury-Wodonga region, where the Murray River winds through the mountains on the Victoria-New South Wales border. Whether you’re relaxing or looking for adventure, the Lake and surrounds offer spectacular landscapes, views and the best water activities, with nearby Albury boasting plenty of things to see and do as well as interesting heritage and fine dining to enjoy.
Discovery Parks – Lake Hume, New South Wales is located on the shores of Lake Hume, just 15 minutes from the heart of Albury, and offers comfortable holiday park accommodation to suit all travellers. Set over 10 hectares of spacious grounds with sweeping views across the water to rolling mountains, choose from powered and unpowered sites or settle into a self-contained cabin to make your home away from home.
If you’re arriving with the caravan, camper trailer, motor home or tent, there are over 200 camp sites, including powered and unpowered options and some located right on the waterfront. Serenity starts at the door of your caravan! Dog friendly sites are available.
If you prefer a few more creature comforts, there is a range of self-contained cabin accommodation providing more space, individual kitchen and ensuite bathroom. Choose from budget cabins, lake view cabins through to deluxe villas, sleeping up to six people depending on the configuration. These make an ideal solution for couples, families and groups, depending on your needs. Some cabins are dog friendly.
Spend your days on Lake Hume however you choose. There’s direct beach access and plenty of hire equipment including paddle boards, kayaks and fishing tackle. Alternatively, settle in with a picnic and a cool beverage to soak up the perfect views.
Discovery Parks – Lake Hume, New South Wales has fantastic facilities including well-equipped camp kitchen, free Wi-Fi, guest laundry and roomy BBQ and picnic areas. The swimming pool with spa and kids pool will be a hit if you can tear yourself away from fun on the lake. At the end of the day the kids can burn off any excess energy at the playground.
The on-site café offers both dine in and takeaway, as well as stocking some basic grocery items. Pick up your fishing bait here before heading out to land the catch of the day.
Beyond the park there is plenty to enjoy in the Albury-Wodonga region. Take a walk to the historic Lake Hume Dam and lookout, or cycle the banks of the River Murray along the Wagirra Trail. In Albury you’ll find plenty of culture, arts and heritage, with museums, galleries and plenty of local history to discover. The Army Museum Bandiana and the Bonegulla Migrant Experience both have something for old and young, or head into the Albury Botanic Gardens for a stroll. Don’t miss the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk’s incredible Indigenous sculptures. Further afield, take on the Regional Craft Beer Trail or explore the delicious wines of the Rutherglen region.
